History

The Squadron was based in the Philippines prior to the attack on Clarke field. They fought in the Java Campaign before relocating to Australia in March. Planes from this Squadron evacuated General Douglas MacArthur to Australia. By August 1942 they were operating out of Queensland against Rabaul and New Britain.,
